Working Issue: Volume 1 Number 2 Summer 2022

The Loving of the Dancers.

One step towards you I was done for, I’m blue
Run over, for you
That beauty and grace left me stranded
For you I was cradled, for you I’m supplanted
These sweeping romances
Keep switching your stances
You take me for granted
The loving of the dancers.
Two steps towards back I’m pedantic
These dance floors confined as two hearts step in time
Tears fall from the man once romantic
Stoic is the rhyme, the chaos, these two chances
The loving of the dancers.
Three steps towards God and the rhythm is gone
Four steps, the lights have gone dark
Five steps, my line of credulity’s my wine
Six, blind along, listen, somebody else’s song
My tricks fall so young
She hates how we dance as one
She despises my sense for beyond
Us two. Carnal, coveting, cancers.
And the loving of the dancers.
