Working Issue: Volume 1 Number 2 Summer 2022

The night in the park

The night never seemed more beautiful
Whether it was his eyes, glistening in the night light
Or the stars illuminating his smile

In an hour we became closer
We talked and laughed and played

In the night everything faded away
Only him and I running away
And to each other
A child’s game but it felt so good
To be with him laughing like we always should

When we collided and crashed and fell to the floor
I never felt so loved, more and more
He stared at me as we laughed
As we breathe harder
Kissing at last

I hope he knows how much I love him
I hope he knows how much I care
I hope he knows how badly
I always want to be there
